Can Renewable Resources Keep Up With Demand For Supplies

Our planet needs energy to survive. The depletion of our fossil fuels such as oil and coal is inevitable as long as we continue to make them the cornerstone of our energy policy. In an effort to sustain our planet, more attention than ever before is now being directed toward renewable resources for our daily energy needs.

Can renewable resources keep up with the demand for supplies? The answer depends on just how diligent an effort our country and the entire world wants to be when it comes to developing these renewable resources. If we take advantage of the most powerful source of energy – the sun, we can develop renewable strategies that can take us thousands of years into the future. Further use of solar powered water heaters, recycled water, wind power and even bio-mass, to run machinery, will help us meet the demand for all of the supplies we need now and into the future.

The benefits of moving further away from fossil fuels and closer to renewable resources are many. There should be minimal or even no environmental impact. No natural resources will be depleted. Policies should be carbon-neutral and emit little or no greenhouse gases. Finally, we will realize energy independence from other nations and not have to depend on the unstable Middle-East countries for our oil and other energy needs.
